Advice to parents

Importance of your equipment
      • Depending on the activity, the appropriate equipment will change.
      • In general, helmets, goggles and sun cream are essential.
      • Wearing a helmet is not always mandatory but is strongly recommended, whatever the activity.
      • However, for activities such as snowboarding or competition, wearing a helmet is mandatory, as well as a back protection or other protective gear.
      • If you have any question regarding the choice of skis or snowboard, please indicate which activity you are going to do when you rent your equipment.
      • For snowshoeing or ski touring, you should wear a triple layer: a breathable under-layer, a polar jacket and a windbreaker, for example.

Do not forget
      • You must have your course card for any type of course, and you must present it to the instructor at the start of each lesson. As this card is nominative, you cannot borrow it from another person.
      • Punctuality at the meeting point of the lessons is required.
      • The lift pass is not included in the price of the lessons (unless otherwise stated). Remember to buy a lift pass.
      • The 5 or 6 day lessons are consecutive.
      • esf Avoriaz does not insure its students. To avoid any risks and financial problems in the event of an accident, we advise you to take out the SNOWRISK insurance, which is available in our ESF offices.
      • Group lessons in alpine and cross-country skiing and the Piou-Piou Club are available from 5 people registered, all season long. The training courses are provided from 4 people minimum.
      • ESF cannot be held responsible for damages or problems caused by the weather conditions. In case of cancellation of the lessons, regardless of our will, no refund will be made.
      • ESF declines all responsibility for material or physical accidents that may occur to students.

Professional Liability Insurance
ESF Avoriaz has taken out a professional liability insurance policy which covers its clients for any damage they may cause to a third party during the time they are under the supervision of an instructor.
Please note: This insurance does not cover the following costs that ESF Avoriaz clients may have to bear on their own in the event of an accident: medical expenses, broken or stolen skis, unused ski lift fees, etc.
This is why ESF Avoriaz recommends its clients to check that they are well covered for these risks, and if not, to take out an insurance policy covering them so that they can enjoy their ski holidays with complete peace of mind.
